CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Cable Car represents a kind of feelings of Chongqing people. Changshou Cable Car has been in service again after two years, which might be another hot scenic spot after Yangtze River Cableway.

Changshou Cable Car

Changshou Cable Car was built by Mao Yisheng, a famous bridge engineer in 1964, running for 52 years, with a length of 282 meters and a vertical height of 110 meters, which is the longest, steepest and oldest cable car in China. As a transportation of Changshou people, it bears the sweet memories from generation to generation. The classic fish-bellied cross tracks connect Wangjiang Road in urban area with Hejie Street. You can fully enjoy beautiful scenery on the cable car, beautiful scenery on both sides of the Yangtze River, charm of Dinghui Temple and ancient scenes of the Sandaoguai Old Street.

Since the cable car was out of service in 2016 due to the lack of repair, the relevant departments have repaired the wheel body so that it can come into service now.

New cable car is also divided into the up line and down line. The up line is a fashion industrial style with a large Chinese character “福” (good fortune) at the entrance and the elements of gears, pipes and engines in the upper right. The down line is full of memories and feelings by adding Changshou Lake’s island relief patterns and painted patterns, as well as sticking some old photos of cable car station on the wall.

You should take the Changshou Cable Car when traveling in Changshou. After experiencing the nostalgic tour on the cable car, you can take a visit at Dinghui Temple and Sandaoguai Old Street with rich historical intension for free nearby.
