CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The northern section of CRT Loop Line (Chongqing Library – Chongqingbei South Square – Haixia Road) has successfully completed its “rail connection” in the early morning of October 10, after going through tremendous difficulties in its geological complexity, engineering obstacle and an imminent construction deadline, which lays a concrete foundation for its trial-run by the end of the year.

The 34-km northern section of the Loop Line starts at Chongqing Library, goes through Chongqingbei South Square and ends at Haixia Road. The project commenced in October 2013, and has 24 stations planned, namely: Chongqing Library, Tianxingqiao, Shapingba, Shazhengjie, Yudaishan, Nanqiaosi, Sports Park, Ranjiaba, Dongbu Park, Honghu East Road, Min’an Avenue, Chongqingbei South Square, Yulu, Wulidian, Danzishi, Tushan, Renji, Shangxinjie, Shanghao, Haitangxi, Luojiaba, Sigongli, Nanhu and Haixia Road. When completed, travelers can transfer with 6 rail transit lines, namely Line 1 at Shapingba Station; Line 5 and 6 at Ranjiaba; Line 4 at Min’an Avenue; Line 3 and 10 at Chongqingbei South Square, Line 6 at Wulidian and Shangxinjie as well as Line 3 at Sigongli.

As of now, the project is about to be completed as decoration of the stations takes place. Vehicles and equipment for some parts of the line are in commissioning to make sure that the system be in operation by the end of the year. (Translated by Yang Lifu, Fathom Language Limited)
