CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Hungary, known as “the pearl on Danube River”, has bred many world-famous cultural masters like Sandor Petofi and Liszt. Now, you can appreciate Hungarian arts closely without going there. Recently, the Hungarian Contemporary Art Exhibition of the 6th Hungarian Art Festival in Western China - Autumn in Budapest opened at Chongqing Art Museum with over 100 works on display to fully show achievements of Hungarian contemporary art.

This exhibition assembles many Hungarian excellent young artists who are with different exhibits styles and from various schools, including pop art, expressionism, abstractionism and realism, which fully show Hungarian contemporary art.

The reporter saw from the exhibition that many works of Hungarian contemporary art are from the end of the 20th century to the beginning of the 21st century, which are presented in various mediums such as oil painting and screen printing, and are distributed in the exhibition hall with sculptures to provide a more three-dimensional visual experience for the audience. In addition, a large number of works themed on Kodaly Zoltan, a Hungarian musician, composer, music educator and folk music scholar, are on display.

It is worth mentioned that 2 works in this exhibition are related to Chongqing made by Hungarian artist Anton Monet, called Chongqing Garden and Chongqing Image.

After the 1960s, a group of Hungarian young artists came to stage. They were bold in innovation and dared to break through traditions to seek new art forms to express their opinions, attaining international influence. The Hungarian Contemporary Art Exhibition was once opened in Hangzhou, Beijing and Xi’an, and Chongqing is the fourth exhibition place.

This exhibition will last until November 4th and be open to the public for free. (Translated by Mao Qiao, Fathom Language Limited)
