He copies the Along the River During the Qingming Festival

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The author met that a gentle and elegant man in a residential building of Hechuan District was holding a brush at the desk and portraying a painting. What he was copying is the Along the River During the Qingming Festival! The busy streets, dancing old trees, traveling boats and various characters were on the paper.

The man is Wang Pingheng who loves painting and calligraphy. He once learned arts from famous military painters Wu Xuejun and Zhang Wenyuan.

“I have more free time after my retirement so I decide to copy several large-scale famous paintings.” said Wang Pingheng. He once saw some ancient famous paintings and felt astounded, so he planned to copy. He had to copy them later for his busy work. In the autumn of 2017, he spent 2 months copying the Eighty-seven Immortals with a length and width of 4.8m and 4.5m respectively. In the beginning of 2018, he spent 2 months copying the Yongle Palace Murals with a length and width of 4.8 meters and 0.6 meters respectively. In July 2018, he started to copy the Along the River During the Qingming Festival with a length and width of 9.16 meters and 0.42 meters respectively. He has copied two fifths so far and will finish it before January 1st, 2019.
