CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- As soon as you place your foot in specified areas, important figures in the field of electromagnetism such as Michael Faraday and Heinrich Hertz may appear, bringing conversations as if they have traveled to the present. The first radio science experience center in Chongqing is to be opened on Oct. 28. By then, a number of futuristic technologies about radio will be presented to the citizens.

Located at Yifu Building of Chongqing University of Science and Technology, the center has 6 exhibition halls and covers an area of 500 square meters. Through its holographic projection, digital window display, graphic explanation and interactive experience, the science center integrates more than 150 pieces of knowledge on radio including military history, marine navigation, railway transportation, astronomy as well as geography. The holographic projection sand table will also show the application of radio in the relief of the 2008 Sichuan earthquake, allowing visitors to see the important role of radio in emergency rescue.

What is worth mentioning is that the center has made several simple games with names of “Finding Illegal Radio Towers”, “Radio Patrol” and “Decryption of Radio with AR”, with the help of many technologies of multi-media, electromagnetic phenomenon, naked-eye 3D and AR/VR.

The center is free to visitors, and visitors need to register online at the official Wechat account of 重庆市无线电科普体验中 (Chongqing Radio Science Experience Center).
