CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Winter flight plan has been implemented by Chongqing Airport since October 28. Data suggest that after the plan change, a total of 6267 flights every week will be put in use, up 7 per cent from last year.

According to the airport, compared with last year, for domestic air routes, 15 flights to Yichun, Xinyang, Sanming Shaxian County, Shigatse, Quzhou, Longnan, Wugang, Nanyang, Meixian, Ninglang, Lancang, Jinggangshan, Bo’ao, Bayannaoer and Alashan are opened, and regular passenger flights to seven places such as Jiuzhaigou, Datong, Altay, Rizhao and Handan are resumed.

At the same time, for domestic air routes, the frequency of flights from Chongqing to Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and other backbone routes has been further increased, with Chongqing to Beijing reaching a maximum of 26 flights per day. In addition, Chongqing Airport has made flights to Hangzhou, Nanjing, Quanzhou, Xiamen, Fuzhou and Harbin more frequent.

For international and regional air routes, compared to the same period last year, six international destinations such as Toronto, Chicago, Kathmandu, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Sihanoukville were added this year. Next, international destinations such as Paris, Boston, Seattle, and Yangon will be added within the year and passenger flights to Kalibo will be resumed. At the same time, after the winter and spring seasons, the number of passenger flights from Chongqing to London, Kuala Lumpur and Phuket will increase to 3, 11 and 18 flights per week respectively. The number of wide-body aircraft will increase by 25 per cent compared with the same period of last year to provide a more convenient experience for international travelers.
