CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Following the National Day holiday, the film market has entered “winter”, and the audience are expecting a blockbuster film that reignites their passion. Scheduled to premiere on November 9, Marvel’s superhero film Venom is highly anticipated. Recently, an IMAX version of the film was previewed in Chongqing, and many of the audience present gave positive review over its alternative synopsis unique to Marvel heroes and its surreal yet imaginative visual effects.
In the film, Tom Hardy plays the ugly but cute character “Venom”, who has a muscular figure and many unpredictable skills. And undoubtedly, another role for him as journalist Eddie Brock brings the film the biggest highlight. In addition to winning fierce fights, this dark-themed hero can still play a funny role in the film - from time to time he makes hilarious impromptu comic gestures and remarks.
As Marvel’s first dark-themed superhero film, Venom has a visual effects team led by Paul J. Franklin, the visual effects supervisor for Inception as well as Interstellar. In order to show the special liquefaction ability of Venom, a fluid special effect design was implemented in the film, and the impressive battle scenes is like writing in Chinese calligraphy brush and splashes of ink.
