CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The Irish national tap dance drama “Riverdance 2: Heartbeat of Home” appeared in Chongqing Grand Theater on November 6. Its fantastic dance move, dynamic rhythm and dream-like stage brought the audience an incredible visual-audio feast that touched everyone’s heart.
The show “Heartbeat of Home” is produced by the same team that created “Riverdance”. It tells a story of hope and future. The first part “A Sea of Dreams” tells a story that people, going through tremendous difficulties, leave their homeland and venture into brand new territories with hope, music and dance. In the second part, “A Land of Dreams”, people help each other and create a better life together, turning every place they live into a utopia with their music and dance.
Accompanied by the intro tune “Whirling Tango”, the dancers showcased the special skill of Riverdance – standing in a line, jumping in the air and hitting the floor 300 times a minute. With the rapid pace of Latin bass, Panamanian piano and Cuban drums, the passionate and energetic Irish tap dance have ignited the entire theater, and the atmosphere instantly got detonated as the audience exclaimed!
In addition to the exciting dance, the live band also brought a special skill of “instant genre change” to the audience. They performed with the traditional Irish bagpipes, Spanish guitar mix drums and electric bass. This one moment you are at a vast moorland and the next you seem to relocate to a bullring in Spain.
“Heartbeat of Home” turns the stage into an illusional space with the help of high-tech holography and visual effects. The rare yet beautiful scenes, together with its perfect and authentic stage setting, touch everyone’s heart. (Translated by Yang Lifu, Fathom Language Limited)
