Northern Ring Road now accessible for tourists visiting Shennv Scenic Spot

The 2018 International Red Leaves Festival is the 12th event this year. Over the years, the Shennv Scenic Spot (Shennv Peak and Shennvxi) was certified as a 4A scenic spot, and this time the Northern Ring Road of the Shennv Scenic Spot opens publicly. This will be the first ring road circling the tourist attraction.

The Northern Ring Road is a spacious asphalt road that can be used for two-way access. Not only can you enjoy the scenery of the canyon, red leaves, clouds and rain, but also the sunset. There are also many parking spaces where you may stop at any time.

At the end of the Northern Ring Road, the trail at Lishuya has been laid, and the pale yellow trail railings are very warm. Not far from the trail, it is the single-line circular passenger ropeway connecting the visitor reception center to the Shennv Temple.

Two observation decks, 3,000-square-meter eco-friendly parking lots as well as 330m pedestrian walkways have been built along the Northern Ring Road. And water, electricity supply facilities as well as sewage dumps are available.

A ropeway at the attraction stretches 740 meters horizontally and has 7 steel supports, where stations for passengers and public toilets are available.

With the completion of the Northern Ring Road, more options to access Shennv Scenic Spot will become available, forming a complete circular route by road and by boat. Tourists would have a brand new experience as the attraction, which provides them a different perspective.

The Shennv Elevator: The Elevator of Asia

The vertical sightseeing elevator — Shennv Elevator — had finished its pilot run in advance and may well be put into use officially. The "big elevator" built on the 85-degree slope, using 8,000 tons of steel and costing 160 million yuan, not only connects the two major attractions, but itself also becomes a new attraction.

The sightseeing Shennv Elevator is built in the upper reaches of the Shennvxi in the Shennv Scenic Area. It is located under the ropeway of the Jianping Huangyan Tourism Turnover Center of the Shennvxi and a circular road, which connects the water and land access. The upper and lower ends of the elevator have a drop of more than 200 meters. The angle of the mountain is 85 degrees. The outdoor hanging-type sightseeing elevator is built vertically on the mountain.

Two elevators are available, each with a capacity of 21 people. Head of the project said that the total height of the elevator is 205 meters and the elevator runs at an elevation of 185 meters, with a speed preliminarily set at 4 meters/second.

The ladder body is made of steel. In order to ensure the firmness of the elevator, the construction unit adopts a cantilever structure and the support structure of the bracket. The anchor cable and the anchor plate are embedded in the mountain for nearly 30 meters. The elevator has 23 floors, and theoretically it can be docked on each floor. In addition, escape platforms (5 in total) are set every 40 meters.

It is so thrilling overlooking the “Elevator of Asia” from the observation deck next to it, between the rocks, the mountains and the red leaves, and the clouds. The elevator, vertically accessible, connects the summit and bottom of the mountain. Taking the elevator is another exciting experience.
