Most important - Chongqing Yangtze River Bridge, still an important passage for citizens.

Most famous - two buildings of Chongqing Cultural Palace Theatre, with horizontal inscribed board autographed by Deng Xiaoping. 

The youngest - T1 of Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, temporarily closed now.

Most characteristic - east building of the People’s Great Hall of Chongqing, a scene of “all planets going around the Sun”.

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- These familiar places are listed in the outstanding historical buildings. Through making inquiries about citizens and experts’ recommendations, the third outstanding historical buildings list in Chongqing was revealed, being publicized currently. A total of 161 old buildings on the list are to be publicized for one month.

Old buildings are on the list, including Chongqing Yangtze River Bridge, T1 of Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, east building of the People’s Great Hall of Chongqing, Daping Broadcast and Television Tower, Chongqing Cultural Palace Theatre and Bijin Park. They have been a part of Chongqing people’s life and known to us all.

Historical building, is of a certain protection value announced by the city or county people's governments, which can reflect the historical features and local characteristics. It is different from culture relic protection site, building or structure with unmovable cultural relics. Cultural architecture has certain cultural relic value, while historical building is of a certain architecture value.

Many historical buildings are scattered in the courtyards, lanes, villages and other places, while some are even unknown. We should make more efforts to find them, so that we can know the story behind them and protect them.

A total of 161 old buildings from districts and counties appear on the list, with various architectural forms, such as residential compound, memorial hall or mansion, blockhouse, industrial site, school building and infrastructure.

According to the third outstanding historical buildings list in Chongqing, many bridges are selected, including Tongjing Scenic Bridge in Yubei District, Shaoyun Bridge in Tongliang District and Tonggu Bridge in Rongchang District.

East Building of the People’s Great Hall of Chongqing ranked on the list has a unique architectural style. The Broadcast and Television Tower of the Chongqing Radio and Television Technical Center in Yuzhong District standing on the mountain of Daping Fotuguan can be seen from afar.

Chongqing Working People's Cultural Palace with its construction started on the site of former East Sichuan Normal School in 1950, which was completed and opened to the public in August 1952.
