CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Yongchuan Museum has been officially opened to the public since this October, becoming another good place to be visited on weekends. Just pay a visit to Yongchuan Museum with your family.

Highlight 1: dinosaur fossil

Speaking of dinosaur, Zigong Dinosaur Museum comes to the mind of most people. Actually, dinosaur fossils of Yangchuanosaurus magus, Yangchuanosaurus Shangyouensis and Baofeng dinosaur were discovered in Yongchuan. However, the Yangchuanosaurus Shangyouensis fossil is still at Chongqing Natural History Museum and the one displayed Yongchuan Museum is a replica, but the Baofeng dinosaur fossil is the original.

Highlight 2: scenery and history

At exhibition area of the Museum, you can also view the natural scenery of Yongchuan. The second floor is natural civilization and history hall, where visitors can know about the revolution years and thriving course of Yongchuan. The third floor is painting and calligraphy exhibition hall, where exhibits are represented by works of “Oriental Vincent van Gogh” Mr. Chen Zizhuang, as well as representative works of his relatives and students. 

Scenery nearby: Shennv Lake

Yongchuan Museum is located at the south foot of Tea Mountain Bamboo Forest, to the east of Shennv Lake and west of Changzhou Ancient City. After the museum trip, you can visit Shennv Lake, one of the three largest lakes in Yongchuan. Enjoy the beautiful lake view and walk up the footpath to admire the Goddess Statue closely, who is in veil standing on auspicious clouds, with her left hand holding a basket and right hand holding a camellia. Besides, there are more than 40 attractions around the lake. Visitors can enjoy the views of mountains in a distance and the lake.

Opening time: 9:00-17:00 (no entry after 16:00), closed on Monday (except for statutory holidays)

Route 1: Chongqingxi --> Yongchuandong --> Bus 302, getting off at Nongjixiao Stop

Route 2: Yongchuan Passenger Transport Center --> Bus 129, getting off at Shennvhu Stop
