CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The 2018 Yangtze River Three Gorges International Marathon has been open at Binjiang Road, Zhongxian County. It is divided into 3 projects: full, half marathon and mini marathon respectively, which has attracted 10,000 runners from all over the world to join in.

Championship of full marathon for Kenyan runners, half marathon for Chinese ones

As one of the most anticipated events in the second half of 2018 in Chongqing, this marathon is cosponsored by Chinese Athletics Association, Administration of Sport of Chongqing, Zhongxian People's Government and Zhongxian Culture Tourism Bureau.

Deng Zunan, 79, has nothing special compared with the person who took part in the match on site. However, 60 years ago, she won the women's championship at the first marathon in Zhongxian. "Unexpectedly, Zhongxian has its own marathon again after 60 years.” Deng Zunan participated in the selection of the official spokesperson for this marathon and fired a gun for the event on the spot.

After fierce competition, two international runners from Kenya won the men's and women's full marathon with a time of 2 hours, 20 minutes, and 59 seconds and 2 hours, 50 minutes, and 55 seconds respectively, while Zhou Youfa and Li Chunxia, two Chinese runners, gained the first places in men's and women's half marathon in 1 hour, 9 minutes, and 50 seconds and 1 hour, 28 minutes, and 49 seconds respectively.
