CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Walking on the glass skywalk which sits hundreds of meters above the ground in the scenic area is exciting and thrilling, right? Another high altitude experience project, Ironroad Project has been built after the glass skywalk, including cliff climbing, colorful bridge and ropewalking. The colorful bridge and ropewalking sit over 600m off the ground. Tourists can try many high altitude entertainments in the future.
It is introduced that “Ironroad” (Via Ferrata) is a transliteration of Italian, meaning rock exploration or railway climbing, which is a climbing path consisting of iron handrails, fixed wire ropes, rock plugs and step treads. "People can enjoy thrilling climbing safely here, including those who are not good at rock climbing.”
Walking on the ropewalking after experiencing the colorful bridge
According to the related person in charge, Qin Yong, the 62-meter-long colorful bridge is named for its various colors and landscapes printed on the decks. The 41-meter-long ropewalking, consisting of a thin rope and two lines, is more exciting than the bridge. Qin Yong said that tourists who experience this project should climb a cliff first to reach the colorful bridge. They will walk on the ropewalking after climbing the bridge.
Many anchor points to ensure the safety
For tourists’ safety, Qin Yong introduced that the project adopts chemical anchor technology. The steel anchors are inserted into the rock over 1 meter, and each steel rope can bear about two tons. The materials used all meet the relevant national standards and pulleys, special-designed lock, protective wire ropes and other devices are used to further ensure the safety.
“We will adapt protective measures in the whole process. Tourists cannot unlock the special-designed lock, which must be opened by professional staff.” said Qin Yong. There are hundreds of anchor points along the walk to ensure the safety even in special circumstances.
The project was started in September, and the bridge, the most difficult part, has been completed. The wire ropes of ropewalking has been completed and the climbing frames of cliffs is under built, which will be completed around New Year's Day of 2019. It will be open before the Spring Festival of 2019 upon its acceptance. (Translated by Mao Qiao, Fathom Language Limited)
