CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- It’s learned from AirAsia that the Chongqing-Krabi flight route has been officially opened, and Chongqing has a direct flight to Krabi, Thailand again. This is also the third regular direct flight route opened by AirAsia in Chongqing.

According to information, Sichuan Airlines had previously opened a direct flight to Krabi in Chongqing, but the route was later suspended. People from Chongqing to Krabi have to transfer in Bangkok, Guangzhou or Shanghai. In the middle of last month, AirAsia announced the opening of the Chongqing-Krabi direct flight route, which also provides more travel options for Chongqing people to travel to Thailand.

Chongqing-Krabi flight route newly opened by AirAsia flies once a day. The outbound flight number FD579 departs from Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport at 02:15 Beijing time, and arrives at Krabi International Airport at 05:50 local time in Thailand; the return flight number FD578 takes off from Krabi International Airport at 20:55 local time in Thailand and arrives at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport at 01:15 Beijing time. The flight time of the whole journey is about 3 hours and 30 minutes.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand also stated that Chongqing has been an important source of tourists to Thailand. There are many direct flights from Chongqing to Thailand, covering Bangkok, Phuket, Samui and Chiang Mai.
