CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, many citizens found that lanterns and lights were hung on trees of some sub-districts in main urban districts, which adds vitality of spring to the cold winter.

According to Chongqing Municipal Urban Management Bureau, the construction of 2019 New-Year festive lights has been started in main urban districts. Among them, lights will be light up before New Year's Day in some areas. The 2019 New-Year festive lights aims to build the brand of “enjoy lanterns in Chongqing”, which can make the lights a must-see characteristic scenery for visitors and citizens in holidays.

Starry Night of Guanyinqiao Business District

The construction of New-Year festive lights in Guanyinqiao Business District is the earliest project.

Lights at main roads and each entrance have been installed basically, which are expected to be light up before December 20.

These lights has add vitality of spring and joyous atmosphere to the business district.

Trees on Guanyinqiao Pedestrian Street are full of various red lanterns and LED illuminations, which will create a beautiful scene when lights on. Every entrance and important junction of the pedestrian street are decorated with many fine lights. They are very special, like the large flower baskets in the park symbolizing the blossom in spring and the lotus blooming in the square meaning a sense of satisfaction.

In the landscape green belt of Jialing Park, a “Starry Night” is about to be presented, which is a highlight among these lights. A group of lights consisting of large round and flower-shaped palace lanterns and well-designed light carvings will create a “Starry Night” on the pedestrian street.

People can have interactions with lights

Interactivity is taken into consideration into the design of 2019 New-Year festive lights in Jiangbei District. People can have interactions with lights at Beibin Road, Juxianyan Square, Sandongqiao and other areas. 

A cube with lights will be installed at the waterfront platform at section of Merchants Jiangwan City at Beibin Road. Visitors can scan the QR code to enter the control interface, then they can light up different pictures and light colors of the cube by interacting with it through the interface options.

Seesaws and swings with lights will be installed at Sandongqiao, Jiangbeizui. Lights will change with the height of seesaws and swings when visitors are playing.

The “Magic Forest” will be built in Juxianyan Square. Inductive devices and lights stained machines will be installed in the lawns, footpaths and other areas of the square. When visitors walk into these range, the lights color will be changed to create a colorful visual scene. 

Some illuminations like cube and seesaw with lights will be kept for many years to decorate the night scenery of Chongqing. (Translated by Mao Qiao, Fathom Language Limited)
