CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Enjoy snow and pick fruits, take a bath in hot spring and greet Spring Festival with folk-customs...The 2018 Chongqing Winter Tourism Press Conference was held recently. More than 270 winter cultural tourism activities and measures benefiting citizens were launched in 35 districts and counties of Chongqing to welcome tourists from all over the world to spend a different winter in Chongqing.

Now, many alpine areas in Chongqing have been covered with snow, while featured resources, like colorful forests, Osmanthus and oranges make winter in Chongqing different from that in Norther China. Themed as “Walking on the snow to find the beauty”, a series of cultural tourism activities are launched in Chongqing, such as the 20th Jinfo Mountain Ice and Snow Festival in Nanchuan, the 16th Wintersweet Arts Festival in Beibei and Group Wedding in Han Style on Fairy Mountain in Wulong. All of them will make tourists enjoy the beautiful winter scenes in Chongqing.

As the world’s hot spring city, over 40 attractions, hotels and resorts of hot spring scenic areas have been built in Chongqing. The maximum daily tourist acceptance is 400,000 visits. A series of hot spring fitness activities have been launched in districts and counties abundant in hot spring resources, like Shapingba, Beibei, Bishan and Tongliang. Tourists can enjoy themselves at these places.

In addition, many folk-customs and activities to welcome Spring Festival which combine culture and tourism together have been launched. There are not only large-scale cultural tourism performances, but also temple fairs, dragons and lions dances and other traditional folk culture activities, as well as traditional specialties such as pork soup, sausages, preserved meat and local snacks. For example, “Returning to the Three Gorges” live performance in Fengjie, “Thriving Spring Festival” on Hechuan Wenfeng Ancient Street and Zhongshan Banquet at Jiangjin Simian Mountain, which will allow visitors to spend a unique “Baoyu Year”.

“The 3rd Chongqing Cultural Tourism Consumption Season” activities will be held form December 25, 2018 to March 25, 2019, during which tickets and discount coupons will be launched in many scenic areas and for cultural products. From January 1 to January 30, 2019, half-price tickets will be launched in scenic areas like Dazu Rock Carvings, Liangping Guanyin Cave and Liangping Huashi Ancient Town.
