On December 9, 2018, a vast area of southeastern Chongqing was covered with snow. Li Changwei, stationed at the Observation Station of Chepan Mountain, Wulong District, inspected the ±800KV transmission line, and observed the thickness of ice, wind speed and the tower to ensure the safe and stable operation of transmission equipment.

In cold winter, power workers have to fight against the bad weather, and carry heavy equipment to work at heights. Yuan Huadong, working for Xinglong Power Supply Station of Youyang Power Supply Company of State Grid Chongqing Electric Power Company, was checking the branch lines to ensure its safe operation.

Too much snow will cause the tree branches to bend or even break. To avoid the electric wire being tearing off by branches, during the inspection, power workers should clean these branches continuously to keep the equipment safe.
