CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Manufacturing industry is the most important industry of Chongqing, so the transformation to intelligent and green automobile manufacturing is of great significance for high-quality development of Chongqing economy. In Jinguo EV Intelligent Digital Factory under Sokon Group, nearly 1,000 robots participate in most of the automobile production process, realizing 100% automation from stamping to welding. Recently, the reporter entered the workshop to observe how robots manufacture automobiles. 

Stamping is the leading technology for automobile manufacturing. The stamping production line of Jinguo EV Intelligent Digital Factory has realized 100% automation. In the enclosed production line, 11 robots are engaged in 5 processes respectively and can finish a part stamping for only 5 seconds. In the past, a stamping production line needed about 150 workers, while it only needs about 60 workers currently. 

In welding workshop, there are 315 robots in total, realizing automatic feeding, conveying, welding and gluing in the production line. There are 5,800 welding points on a car body, 2,900 of which are finished here. 

In traditional welding workshop, there is potential threat to workers’ personal safety in welding arc light, fume, electricity and mechanical punching. Nowadays, robots greatly improve the safety. Moreover, every robot has multiple cameras, so it can take pictures and make comparison while welding to reduce the weld seam error to within 0.05mm, which is thinner than a hair and can rarely be achieved by manual welding. 

In the workshop, a team of AGV carrier robots passed by while “humming” songs. Don’t underestimate them; they are very “smart” and can communicate with host computer wirelessly, report running position and working status, recognize materials via RFID, have adaptive memory and learning functions and can also play pleasing music. In factory, carrying dose not rely on manpower any more.

The painting for interior and exterior car body is also completed by robots. The painting production line is also the first zero-emission one in Chongqing. All waste water in the painting workshop is recycled and used for painting production after handled at waste water treatment station, which protects environment and also saves water resource.

In the workshop, machines and humans exist in harmony. Machine in place of human does not mean replace human, but liberates humans from repetitive work and heavy physical labor, so as to create more technical positions. Currently, there are 3,000 employees of Jinguo EV and 2,000 more will be increased later.
