“You can see scenic Chongqing from its rail transit, and Liziba Station is the station most people like, but I will recommend other one: Yangjiaping Station on Line 2.” Chen Yanan, who lives near Yangjiaping in Jiulongpo District, told the reporter that whenever going shopping in Yangjiaping Business District, she always looks at the arts painted on pillars under the track of light rail crossing the district.

Deng Chao, who also lives in Yangjiaping, said: "The track of Yangjiaping Station has its own characteristics, and you can look up at the running train, standing in the business district. At first glance, it looks like a cute caterpillar. What’s more, on the exit of station, you can take photos endowed a bit of color via pillars with colored paintings.”

Hearing the description, the reporter came to Yangjiaping Station for investigation. Walking out of Yangjiaping Station, you can see the hand-painted piers on the pedestrian overpass. Looking ahead, there are several piers with different shapes and unique styles of hand-painted ones.

The reporter walked along the pier, seeing that many citizens were attracted by the hand-drawn pictures with different colors and took out their phones to take pictures as a souvenir.

Miss Li told reporters that if it is a sunny day, these arts will be more beautiful in the sunshine and it seems as splendid as a string of notes when the train passed.

There are 23 piers in total at Yangjiaping Station, all of which were painted in handmade with beautiful patterns.

Chongqing features such as Chongqing noodles, Yangtze River Cableway and Jiefangbei are painted on these piers, so that the pillars turn into arts.

In order to reach high quality and expected effect of this art gallery, 

each pier shall carry out at least 9 procedures including putty brushing, emulsion varnish painting and drawing for exterior wall, and last the completed piers will be coated with two layers of transparent protective glue to prevent fading. (Translated by Jiang Yuling, Fathom Language Limited)
