CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- For buildings erected on the hills in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, historic ruins of the Anti-Japanese War and old streets preserved completely, a number of new "members" have been list on the historic and cultural towns, blocks and traditional style areas of Chongqing, according to the Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Planning and Natural Resources. Among which, many may be located nearby you, so you can have a “date” with your family and friends to visit the historic and cultural places on weekends.

The "turning" space with many slopes and stairs is the most unique pattern of mountainous streets and lanes in Chongqing. Sandaoguai in Changshou District, built on the hills, is one of above said towns, blocks and areas, with 3 turnings in total. The relevant person in charge of Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Planning and Natural Resource said that Sandaoguai in Changshou District is the mountain buildings with most complete preservation of Ming and Qing Dynasties along the Yangtze River in Chongqing.

Zouma Town in Wanzhou District, as one of the famous historical and cultural towns in Chongqing, is the junction of the two provinces and three counties, keeping buildings from the late Qing Dynasty to the 1980s. There are frequent cultural exchanges and close economic ties between border people of above places. Zouma Ancient Road is the sub-station connecting the rural area in the mountains and the Yangtze River waterway, and Zouma Town is named due to Zouma Ridge and is flourishing because of Tea-Horse Ancient Road.

This new batch of famous historical and cultural towns, blocks and traditional style areas at the municipal level includes three blocks: Zhongshan 4th Road in Yuzhong District, Sandaoguai in Changshou District and Chengjiang Old Street in Beibei District; seven towns: Zouma Town in Wanzhou District, Shanghe Town in Tongnan District, Xinmiao Town in Fuling District, Zhushan Town in Wanzhou District, Qingjiang Town in Rongchang District, Zhongfeng Town in Qijiang District, Gaoan Town in Dianjiang County; and 1 area, Luzumiao in Yuzhong District, reflecting the historical features and local characteristics of Chongqing's urban and rural development, with high value of architectural history, culture, science and art.
