Blessing and Wishing

The Square is filled with festive atmosphere.

According to the person in charge of Three Gorges Square Business District, “Blessing” and “Wishing” were arranged at Sanjiaobei Roundabout and entrance of Xinhua Bookstore to show the core of “Peace and Prosperity”.

Once you enter the door of “Blessing”, you’ll see two antithetical couplets over your head. And then, two rows of Chinese landscape pictures come into sight. Eighteen quadrate lamp-stands lined in two rows are grand.

Lotus Lamps in river

Walking slowly, you will see the magnificent views of Three Gorges with twelve unbelievable landscapes.

Along the riversides, these hanging red lanterns shows prosperity, progress and completeness. “Placing lotus lamps” in the river of Three Gorges Square is a huge attraction of the decorative lights. “Placing lotus lamps” is a traditional custom of Huaxia Nationality.

56 Kongming lanterns

A beam of silver light occurs at the core section. Then, Kongming lanterns come to you.

Kongming lantern, also called as wishing lamp, is used for military. It’s said that the lantern was invented by Zhuge Liang (Zhuge Kongming). Nowadays, Kongming lanterns are used for blessing and preying. These 56 lanterns used at the square represent 56 ethnic groups of China. 

Flourishing life in 2019

All supernatural beings are making a vow for you when crossing the street. For example, the God of Longevity may you health, the Legend of Crazy Monk may you happy and the God of Wealth may you rich.

High “tower” made by firecracker lightings is eye-catching. Piggies under the tower are in red clothes, forming a joyful scene. There are many lighting ornaments for preying. The heart-shaped Wishing Wall is the best place for couples to take photos at night.

The decorative lights project to welcome the Spring Festival at Three Gorges Square will be opened till February 19, 2019. In addition, shows to welcome the Spring Festival will be held from January 25 to January 27, including traditional dramas from 15:00 to 16:30 on January 25, traditional folk music from 15:00 to 16:30 on January 26 and chorus from 15:00 to 16:30 on January 27.
