CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- There is a wonderful landscape at Jianxin North Road, Guanyinqiao. White ball-flowers are growing on trees erected at the central greening isolation zone, and it looks like snowballs hanging from a distance. Amazingly, the tree should have blossomed in spring, but it blooms four months earlier, as if it’s not afraid of the cold.

The bloomed plant is hydrangea flower, which is the new flowering tree planted in Jiangbei District last year as well as in the main urban area for the first time.

More than 160 hydrangea flowers were planted in the central greening isolation zone on Jianxin North Road. Last spring, they all blossomed, dressing the road with a new scene. Its flowing period is from April to May every year, however, within a year, it blossoms again on Jianxinbei Road.

Since December last year, it has started to bloom in succession on Jianxin North Road, which has lasted for more than a month with more and more flowers.

Reporter saw at the scene that dozens of flowers, white and elegant, are bursting into bloom on each tree respectively. And some buds are incubating.

“We also feel surprised for the large-scale blossom of hydrangea flowers.” Person in charge of Jiangbei Landscape Management Office said that hydrangea flower blooming in winter is infrequent, and the scene of large-scale blossom is rarer.

Aiming the reason why it flowers ahead of time, related person in charge explained that flowering trees bloom out of season based on lots of elements, so does the viburnum marcocephalum.

Although it is better in sunshine and warm & humid climate, it is also strong, and resistant to cold and drought. That is to say, it has the potential that not afraid of the cold.

But above point is not enough to explain that. The adaptation for the new growing environment is also a major reason. It can bloom ahead of time, indicating that they have adapted to the new growth and develop well at the same time.
