CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- A few days ago, the first movement-based ballet Our Etudes was performed at Shi Guangnan Grand Theatre. About 60 young and amateur ballet dancers from 3 - 5 years of age presented a wonderful performance with their love to ballet and got applause from the spectators. 

Barre, touching the floor and relevé… Our Etudes absorbed the melodramatic style and characteristics of classical ballet, moved the classroom onto the stage and represented a day of children learning ballet to show spectators all details and feelings of children in ballet learning.

What is movement-based ballet? “It only requires perfectly doing the movements taught on the master class. But different from a complete dance or dance drama, feelings and emotions are the minimum requirements.” Chen Nanxi, founder of Chongqing Black Swan Ballet said, “The background music accompanies our movements rather than the dance drama accompanied by melodramatic music.”
