CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Thousands of people were watching the colorful dragon-shaped lantern settings in spirits at Tongliang Renmin Park, and a large number of people took pictures with words of praise.

"Since the opening of Chinese Dragon Lantern Festival on January 13, more than 10,000 citizens and tourists have visited the park every day. At least one third of which are from the main urban areas and neighboring districts and counties of Chongqing” said by the person in charge of the square.

The technique of making Tongliang dragon lantern has handed down for over 1,000 years and it’s the hometown of dragon lantern art named by the state. Tongliang planned to hold the Dragon Lantern Art Festival and Chinese Dragon Lantern Festival on January 13, 2019 (the day of Laba Festival), making citizens and tourists fully appreciate the artistic charming of dragon lantern and dance and creating a joyful festival atmosphere.

Tongliang held the Opening Ceremony & Lighting Ceremony of the First Chongqing Tongliang Chinese Dragon Lantern Art Festival, and more than 150 dragon lantern settings debuted at the Tongliang Renmin Park, Colorful Dreamlike Garden, Longcheng Paradise Business District and Anju Ancient City, creating a glorious festival atmosphere.
