Camellia is a famous flower in the world and one of China’s top ten famous flowers. It is also the city flower of Chongqing. Because of its beautiful shape, gorgeous and colorful color, and invisible green and bright leaves, this flower is very popular among people.

The Camellia Park of Chongqing Nanshan Botanical Garden is an international outstanding camellia park. It is understood that the park has collected a total of more than 600 varieties of camellia, the planting area reaches 105 mu, and the planting number is more than 10,000 strains. The flowering period of the regular ornamental variety is from October to May of the next year, and can last for half a year. In 2018, the park introduced a batch of new hybrid variety of four-season red camellia, and carried out the renovation of the scenic spots in the main tourist areas, so that people can enjoy the camellia in all seasons.

The reporter saw in the ancient camellia yard of the Camellia Park that there are more than 100 Sichuan camellia trees preserved for hundreds of years. Among them, there are 3 ancient camellias of 400 years old, which are “the treasures of yard”. They are Jinding Dahong (the king of camellia), Tieke Zipao and Camellia japonica var.anemoniflora.
