CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The first “2019 Japanese Traditional Handicrafts Exhibition” was held at JS ECOOL in Liangjiang New Area a couple of days ago. More than 50 types of Japanese traditional handicrafts were displayed. The exhibition will continue until February 28.

It is said that the itinerant “Japanese Traditional Handicrafts Exhibition” debuted in Chongqing at the end of last year. At the beginning of 2019, an additional exhibition was held at JS ECOOL in Liangjiang New Area, which is also the first additional exhibition in China.

The woodwork, especially the secret box with traditional Japanese culture, from Hakone was the most preferred exhibit on the exhibition. The curator said, “Hakone woodwork is not painted but shows its natural color. That’s its strongest characteristic. Hakone, thanks to the favorable climate condition, is rich in all kinds of timber with over 50 kinds of color.”

Besides, you can also see Nambu ironware and Kyoto embroidery on the exhibition. “All handicrafts on display are saleable and affordable.” said the curator. The exhibits are priced at the same price as in Japan and also more affordable than those in tourist attractions. (Translated by Xu Mengmiao, Fathom Language Limited)
