CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- "Do you have Jiaozi and Baozi?" Ash Dykes, an explorer from Wales, had a joke with his readers in a way of humor. He has a 10-year adventure experience although he was born in 1990s. And with his new book Mission Possible, he came to Chongqing to share his experience with readers last weekend.

Ash Dykes, a young man from a town in Wales, has hiked for 1,500 miles within 78 days without any support at the age of 23, becoming the first person who successfully passed through the Mongolia only on foot in the world in records. A year later, he conquered 8 peaks in Madagascar within more than 5 months.

During the period, he has undergone the sun exposure, water shortage, malaria, met brown bears and wolves, and witnessed the leave of team members. However, he, without professional guidance and special training, has overcome all kinds of difficulties by means of his courage and action to realize his dream gradually.

After gaining serval world records, he planned to walk from source to estuary of the Yangtze River, the third largest river in the world. With two-year preparation, he set out from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the birthplace of the Yangtze River, in July 2018. This time is his 5th trip to China. "I like China. It's beautiful, but I can't understand all of it because I've only visited the east of China. The river plays an important role in an expedition, so I make the decision to walk along the Yangtze River." he said.

For the hiking along the Yangtze River, it’s not only a challenge to him, but a leaning and spreading of Chinese culture and Chinese Kungfu. Meanwhile, he has participated in activities of protecting the Chinese sturgeon and the nature.

For the online comments "cool" and "legendary" to him, Ash said he is just a common people who likes sports and travel. He is a self-disciplined person, achieving the goals he had made and gaining the status of professional explorer.
