For the first class of school for the Spring semester, various activities are showed in primary and secondary schools of Chongqing to encourage students for their dreams and to be a noble people. 

Jiangbei District – sing for the motherland

A special "first class of school" was held at 8:30 a.m. in Yudaishan Primary School, Jiangbei District. As the national anthem was played, the three firemen from Shimahe Squadron, Jiangbei Branch of Chongqing Public Security Fire Brigade stepped with straight posture and unified pace to the flag tower, of which one held the national flag in two hands. The flag was raised slowly. All teachers saluted with their eyes and young pioneers with their hands.

"Singing for our dear motherland, from now step towards prosperity and strength...." All teachers and students of Chongqing Xu Beihong High School sang the song of Ode to the Motherland on the morning of this day, to welcome the first class of new semester. At the same time, 700 students jointed small wooden cards in their hands together to form the shape like a bright and huge national flag, and the figure "70" was on its back, symbolizing the 70th anniversary of motherland.

On the first day of school, there were 100,000 teachers and students from more than 200 schools in Jiangbei District to sing "My Motherland and Me" in different ways for patriotism.
