CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The 2019 World Team Chess Championship is to be staged in Astana, Kazakhstan in early March and both the women’s team and men’s team will enter the competition. And, more remarkable, the chess queen Tan Zhongyi, Lei Tingjie and Huang Qian out of 5 female players in total are from Chongqing.

As the defending champion, the men’s team of China is made up of Ding Liren, Yu Yangyi, Wei Yi, Bu Xiangzhi and Ni Hua, aiming at retaining the championship title. Grandmaster Hou Yifan and Ju Wenjun are absent but Tan Zhongyi, Lei Tingjie, Huang Qian, Shen Yang and Ding Yixin will play in the championship with the chess queen Tan Zhongyi as the leader.
