CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, the “Intelligent Security System Assisted by Manual Verification”, developed by Chongqing Institute of Green and Intelligent Technology of Chinese Academy of Sciences (shortly as “Chongqing Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences”) and approved by CAAC North China Regional Administration, began its trials officially at Hohhot Baita International Airport. It means that the first security-clearance system in China by producing passenger’s identification once and recognizing passenger’s face afterwards, together with its application process was launched officially.

This system can achieve that passengers can only present their ID document for verification at security-check spot. If success, the re-check of identity at security check channel and re-check of passengers’ information at departure gate can be completed by “face recognition” and passengers can board without boarding pass and QR Code in the whole process. At the same time, picture of passenger’s on-site face recognition will become digital security check signs.

“The system pushes the revolution of security check process; that is, manual verification spot transferred into manual assisted verification spot. According to the on-site trial operation, the passing efficiency has been greatly improved while the human cost has been reduced.” said Shi Yu, the director of Intelligent Safety Technology Center.

The system is the newest research achievement of “Intelligent Recognition System of Airport Security Check” of Hongguang Special Project (key project of the transfer and transformation of scientific and technological achievements). The key product “Face Recognition Auxiliary Verification System of Civil Aviation Security Check” has been adapted to 618 security check channels in 70 airports throughout the country by the end of 2018, covering more than 60% of the country's key airports with an annual throughput of over 10 million passengers.
