Mona Lisa’s Smile to be showed in Chongqing

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- After passing six centuries, the works of Three Renaissance Masters: Leonardo Da Vinci, Raphael, Michelangelo, and their teachers as well as the 161 paintings, sculptures and art treasures of contemporary artists will be showed in Chongqing next month. The special exhibition Mona Lisa's Smile and Three Renaissance Masters - Collection of the Bellini Family (hereinafter referred to as special exhibition) will be held at Chongqing Art Museum from April 26 to August 8, 2019.

Chongqing people can see the real cultural relics such as Santa Ana, "Crucifix” and Madonna del Granduca created 600 years ago by Three Renaissance Masters, and can enjoy a feast of cultural exchange between China and the West. 

Real masterpieces are put in front of you

The special exhibition is divided into three parts: Immortal Works: History of Italian Renaissance Development, Family Inheritance: Collection History of the Bellini Family and Contemporary Salute: Declaration of the New Renaissance. The 161 art treasures on display have been collected and passed down by 21 generations of the Bellini Family from Italian over 600 years. The transportation they’re going to take is airplane instead of the traditional one - ship.

"We used to see the Renaissance works in history textbooks or film and television programs, but they are put in front of the public with an actual look, which can make us talk with the giant craftsmen born 600 years ago” introduced by the curator.

Masterpieces of Three Renaissance Masters is to be showed in Chongqing together

The persons from art and collection circles said the special exhibition is a complete interpretation of the Renaissance history spanning four centuries.

Noticeably, the masterpieces of Three Renaissance Masters: Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo and Raphael are to be showed in the same hall at the same time together, including the “Mona Lisa's Smile” and "Santa Ana”, Michelangelo's sculptures "Crucifix” and Raphael's oil paintings "Madonna del Granduca” and “John the Baptist”.

In addition, the classics of other great artists in the history of art will be presented in this special exhibition, and all of them are genuine cultural relics.

This exhibition may cover a hall area of 2,100 square meters with three exhibition zones. In order to better present the audiovisual effect, the exhibition restores the scene and makes the interspersed effect of artworks via using modern AR/VR and surround speaker technologies. The cultural, artistic and life scenes of Florence 600 years ago are showed in the aspects of visual, auditory, olfactory, tactile and other senses, so that visitors seems to be in the real world of Renaissance period.
