CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Footpath is a unique component of Chongqing slow paced life.

It’s an important channel for Chongqing people and a vital carrier for inheriting historical culture and recording the development, which is closely related to the promotion of urban quality.

According to Chongqing Bureau of Planning and Natural Resources, there are 60 footpaths to be constructed in 9 main urban districts, with a total length of 1,207km. Among them, seventeen footpaths are to be constructed recently, with a total length of 353km.

Footpaths are mainly divided into 3 types: footpaths in street lanes, near water and in mountain forests. Footpaths in streets and lanes are mostly distributed in old urban districts, with many stairs and in the form of streets and lanes. There are many historical and cultural resources such as historical blocks and traditional areas nearby. Footpaths near water are constructed by rivers, which are good places for people to enjoy views and water. Footpaths in mountain forests are built in “four mountains” in main urban districts and others, with functions of leisure, fitness and amusement. There are also many characteristics footpaths in other areas of Chongqing.

In the future, a brand of “Shancheng Footpath” will be built, and the construction of footpaths in districts and counties will be brought into the brand system in line with relevant standards, which means footpaths in Chongqing will lead a happier life for more people.
