CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- According to Chongqing Rail Transit (Group) Co., Ltd., the construction of canopy at entrances and exits of stations and piers greening work are continuously promoted. By 2020, the landscape quality along CRT routes in main urban districts will be comprehensively improved.

Canopies were installed at 75 stations to avoid climbing stairs in rainy days

In rainy days, outside escalators at entrances and exits of CRT stations are closed, so passengers have to climb stairs. It is quite inconvenient. To make passengers’ travel safe and improve the service quality, the company started to install canopies for outside escalators at entrances and exits.

At Guangdianyuan Station, the newly installed canopy has a clear exterior outline, similar to the “cockpit”, with a LED light inside.

The company claimed that when the construction is completed, outside escalators can operate normally, reducing the danger of slipping and decreasing the failure rate and cost of maintenance. It ensures the safety of passengers’ travel and transport operation.

193 entrances and exits of 75 stations in total in Line 1, 2, 3 and 6 are constructed with 201 canopies in total.

The company will continuously promote the pier greening project.

Piers with “green coats” improve landscape quality

In addition to the construction of canopy, greening and beautifying works on piers of CRT stations are carried out orderly. The company declared that on the basis of landscaping project on 2,866 elevated piers completed in 2018, the pier greening work will be further promoted.

Before the end of 2019, the company will maintain piers suitable for greening work and put on “green coats” to elevated piers in line with local conditions, to make them a beautiful scene.
