CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Wushan Airport, also known as the "Carrier in the Cloud", has successfully carried out a test flight recently, by Chongqing Airlines A320neo. The test flight comprehensively inspected the air-ground communication, navigation facilities and runway surfaces of Wushan Airport. It is said that, the flight will just take you one hour to Wushan Airport from Jiangbei International Airport. Its success marks a step closer to the opening of Wushan Airport.

Wushan Airport has a 4C-level flight zone, a runway of 2700 meter-long and 45 meters width, and a 4CB apron. It is located in the Three Gorges Valley of the Yangtze River and at the mouth of the Sichuan Basin, bordering on Hubei Province. Thus it is easy to fog due to the influence of climate, so visibility is one of the factors affecting flight.

According to the relevant person in charge of Wushan Airport, Wushan Airport Terminal covers an area of 3,500 square meters and is designed to handle 280,000 passengers and 1,200 tons of cargo throughputs in 2020. It is known that the altitude of Wushan Airport is 1771.48 meters above sea level, and the bad weather has become a barrier for airport construction. At present, the terminal has entered the renovation stage, and it is expected to be completed in the first half of 2019.

In addition, in terms of operation, the Chongqing-Wushan and Chongqing-Yantai-Wushan routes have been preliminarily coordinated. Now the Airport is sparing no effort to strengthen the coordination of flight schedule and strive for the opening in the first half of the year.
