CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- April 23rd is the 24th “World Book Day”. In order to create a better atmosphere for reading, Chongqing people tried many methods, like building audio libraries in Nan’an District and installing book sharing kiosks in Linshi, Fuling District.

17 audio libraries to be constructed in Nan’an District

You can listen to the book online as long as you scan the QR code on a book. Seventeen audio libraries are to be built in Nan’an District in 2019. The 24-hour reading service will be achieved through the online and offline “science & technology + culture” service to innovate a new carrier for nationwide reading.

Through “a physical book + a QR code”, the audio library will provide bestsellers for citizens and offer materials for the education of party members. By scanning the QR code via their phones, citizens can listen to the books in the audio library, which solves the traditional display of books and strengthens readers' interest in reading.

You can borrow books for free and donate books in the book sharing kiosk in Meixin Red Wine Town, Linshi Town, Fuling. Since the launch, books in the kiosk have been borrowed for more than 30,000 times.

It was officially put into service from April 23rd, 2018 under the integrity-based management mode, which means no one guards it. People just need to scan the QR code to borrow and return books. People also can donate books to enrich it and realize the sharing of books and knowledge. (Translated by Mao Qiao, Fathom Language Limited)
