CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- According to Xinhua, the People's Bank of China (PBOC) announced that a latest batch of the 2019 edition renminbi including banknotes with a denomination of 50 yuan, 20 yuan, 10 yuan and 1 yuan, together with coins valued 1 yuan, 0.5 yuan and 0.1 yuan will be issued from August 30, 2019. Based on the images on the current series of renminbi banknotes in circulation, the latest batch will see brighter colors and adjusted patterns with enhanced anti-counterfeiting performance on the whole.

Compared with the current 5th series of renminbi banknotes in circulation, elements like Mao Zedong’s head, horizontal numbers, main image on the reverse sides and figures of dominations on the obverse sides are adjusted on the new ones. In addition, the decorative pattern is added on the left of the obverse side, while some elements like local image are canceled on the right of it. The year on these banknotes is changed to "Year 2019". As for coins, the figures on the obverse sides and the flower images on the reverse sides of 1-yuan, 0.5-yuan coins are adjusted.

It’s worth mentioning that banknotes including 100-yuan renminbi banknotes and 5-yuan renminbi banknote are not adjusted this time. Relevant people of the PBOC said that 100-yuan renminbi banknotes issued in November 2015, has improved anti-counterfeiting performance and printing quality. Technologies on 5-yuan renminbi banknotes which are with small denomination and small circulation amount are still under testing. So its relevant issuing matters are to be arranged.
