At the taxi pick-up station around Exit 1 of Guanyinqiao CRT Station, you can see that the new taxi demonstration station is simple and fashionable with a combination of stainless steel plates, transparent glass and LED light source.

The station is equipped with seats for you to rest and USB ports to charge your mobile phone. There is a wide canopy to keep you from wind and rain. In addition to that, you can see a map of the area and a vending machine there.

To be mentioned that in order to provide passengers with a relaxed waiting environment, except for public service advertisements, commercial advertisements are not set at the boarding points.

According to Chongqing Traffic Bureau, there has been a strong demand for taxis in Jiefangbei, Guanyinqiao, and other core business districts and transportation hubs for a long time. In order to regulate the order of taxi waiting, Chongqing Traffic Bureau, together with the Public Security and Traffic Patrol Departments, has set up simple taxi stations in large business districts and traffic hub stations for temporary taxi parking. While these stations are made up of signs, parking lots and stainless steel railings which are used to guide people to queue, thus it’s hard to be a shelter of passengers.

Combination with the urban upgrading action of Chongqing, the pilot operation of the new taxi demonstration station aims to upgrade the infrastructure and improve the travelling environment of citizens.

Five more taxi demonstration stations will be added before National Day

It is reported that due to the landmark features of Chongqing, a large number of bridges and tunnels, and limited urban roads and sidewalks, there are few areas with equipped taxi waiting facilities. To take great advantage of limited resources and give convenience to people, a group of taxi demonstration stations will be set up at places with crowds flow such as business centers, squares and scenic spots. Before National Day, another 5 stations will be added to Jiefangbei, Hongyadong (Cangbai Road) and so on. 

According to the site restrictions of road space, surrounding trees and the underground pipe network, there will be three types of new taxi stations in the future, namely the standard type of kiosk, the type of small and the type of stop sign, according to the relevant person in charge of Chongqing Public Platform Facility Investment & Development (Group) Co., Ltd.
