The "Chongqing Create · Creative Fair” has been held at Chongqing Creative Park.

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Last Saturday, as a part of "Chongqing Create” 2019 Chongqing Creative Park Cultural and Tourism Industry Series Week, the Chongqing Create · Creative Fair has been held at Chongqing Creative Park, showing more than 10,000 ceramic works of 50 creative vendors from Jingdezhen.

Shopping: rice-pattern porcelain collected by the Palace Museum

On the scene, you can see a kind of China's four famous ceramics - rice-pattern porcelain here, which is different from the traditional white one due to the color innovation by Jia Shanshan. After 7-month practice, she researched and developed this type of rice-pattern porcelain, which is the same as the texture, color and touch of jade, and with a hollow-out creativity, so it is popular with young people.

The porcelain brought by Jia Shanshan is in light green.

"A novice needs to practice for at least 2 years to master the hollow-out process, due to the crisp billet of rice-pattern porcelain.” Therefore, Jia personally handled with every work. A set of tea sets created by Jia, the pioneer of celadon glaze rice-pattern porcelain, was collected by the Palace Museum in 2017, which adds color to the modern Chinese ceramic art.

Porcelains here sold by Liu Cancan are with different Chinese painting patterns which are designed and painted by the owner. Picking up a water pot, Liu said that its color, the retro color from Song Dynasty, had been made successfully after thousands of failures.

Listening: beautiful sound from an ocarina

You may hear a beautiful sound from an ocarina created by Zhu Jiang. He was born in a musical family but fell in love with ceramics.

Unlike the common Xun (a holed wind instrument), it has one more whistle and calcined with ceramics, looking like an ocarina in ancient Chinese instrument list.

Zhu Jiang (right) is introducing the ocarina to customers.

Under guidance of Zhu Jiang, the journalist never playing instrument has learned how to play the ocarina in five minutes. "I used to sell Xun, but customer can’t blow it without playing experience, so I made a whistle to let everyone enjoy the charm of traditional Chinese music." Zhu said. And he took three years to complete this creative work.

Playing: mini ceramic making machine & ceramic research project

Wang Wenhua shared the mini ceramic making machine where you can finish a palm-sized ceramic work after shaping billet, calcinating, coloring and other basic processes.

Wang’s booth is crowded with children and parents.

Wang said "the idea of this project is from a complain of customer about making pottery is interesting but difficult to play at home”. Beyond his expectation, the machine caught many attentions of children and parents while appearing in the booth, and the project gradually got cares of schools. Moreover, he has gained 3,000 customers and his machine project has become one of Jingdezhen ceramics research projects. (Translated by Jiang Yuling, Fathom Language Limited)
