CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- After completing the afforestation project, the north end of Egongyan Bridge has become a good place for citizens to exercise and relax.

Grandpa Liu, 64 years old, who lives near the north end of Egongyan Bridge, comes here to exercise or chat with friends on chairs every morning. Looking up occasionally, you’ll be satisfied for the pillars are “green”. “I find that more than 10 pillars are on green cover.”

Grandpa Liu said that many pillars, wrapped in green plants, are like towering trees, which forms a green forest together.

A grandma resting on the chair said that the air is fresh in this cool place for green plants, attracting many people nearby to have a walk here. 

According to Afforestation Office of Jiulongpo City Administration, the government focuses on buildings, bridge pillars, roads and slopes during the process of promoting the afforestation project, so as to construct a wonderful garden district. The total green area of the north end of Egongyan Bridge is 3,000 square meters. Plants which are shade tolerant and free-trim are selected to cover these bridge pillars, with an average of 15,000 seedlings on per pillar. Since the completion of this project, it has attracted many visitors.

At the same time, pillars along the light rail at Xijiao Road, Changjiang Road and Yuanqie Road are full of rose plant mesh, forming a great picture frame and becoming a beautiful scene. (Translated by Mao Qiao, Fathom Language Limited)
