CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Jiaxicun, located in the south of Jialing River Bridge, is one of the characteristic communities in Yuzhong District. As the construction of relief wall and the renovation of Yiyuan is completed, its historic cultural resource has been evacuated. In addition to Liziba Station, Hongyadong and other popular attractions, this community with rich cultural and historical connotation becomes one place favored by backpackers, which is near Jialing River with many stairs and alleys.

There are the most ancient houses made of stones equipped with heating equipment. The reporter went to this community to explore its characteristics, people and stories.

First 3A community attraction in China

It is located on the sloping fields by Jialing River like other old communities in Yuzhong District. Entering from the Chongqing Youzheng Hospital, you’ll see the winding flagstone roads under Ficus virens. On one side of the alley is the busy Jialing Xinlu, and on the other side of the alley is dwellings built along the mountain.

Close to the bridgehead of Jialing River Bridge, the community owns a small square enclosed by stone balustrades, where you can overlook Jialing River and Chongqing's first Jialing River Highway Bridge.

This community, called as a “3A landscape hidden in dwellings” by netizens, is the first national 3A attraction successfully declared in the name of the community in Chongqing, and has successively won the honorary title of Chongqing Top 10 Most Beautiful Alleys and Streets and the most beautiful habitable lane.

Yiyuan opens after renovation

It is a famous ancient structure well-preserved in Jiaxicun near Niujiaotuo Interchange. Although surrounded by dwellings, it has an eye-catching stone structure of pseudo Gothic style with an independent courtyard.

Its inside structure is special and mysterious, which was always talked by residents nearby before the open. Most of the rooms on the first and second floors have well-preserved heating radiators, with well-designed exhaust vents at the stairway and under the stone walls. There are pipes connecting the radiators to the boiler room in the basement. It is the only old structure with heating equipment founded in Chongqing.
