Which are the summer destinations? According to the definition of the China Tourism Academy, summer tourism destinations should have at least two characteristics. The two factors are respectively climate and tourism. The first factor requires that travel comfort of summer destination be satisfactory, with the sensible temperature ranging from 18° to 28°. The second requires that there should be rich tourism products, complete supporting facilities and low risk of disaster.

Data show that the number of tourists with summer vacation intention is expected to account for 17% of the total number of tourists in the summer vacation of 2019, and these tourists have a higher willingness to choose summer resorts.

Which cities emit the signal of the highest summer travel intentions? According to the data, Shanghai, Chengdu, Beijing, Chongqing, Wuhan, Nanjing, Guiyang, Zhengzhou, Guangzhou and Hangzhou are the top 10 cities with the highest enthusiasm for summer vacation in 2019, and they are respectively the first-tier cities and second-tier and third-tier cities with the highest temperatures.

According to the current booking data of hundreds of thousands of tourists, the top 10 most popular summer destinations in 2019 are Xiamen, Lijiang, Guiyang, Lanzhou, Xining, Zhoushan, Lhasa, Dalian, Hulunbuir and Chengde. In addition to the advantages of temperature, these places are also well-known tourist destinations in China, which are in an advantageous position in terms of the richness of tourism resources, transportation capacity, hotel reception capacity and overall tourism satisfaction.

80s and 90s prefer summer resorts for a 4-6 day trip

From the order of Ctrip summer travel products, women and men account for 50% of the balance. In terms of age, people born in the 1980s and 1990s prefer summer resorts, accounting for 21% respectively, followed by those born in the 1950s and 1960s, accounting for 18% respectively. Those born in the 1970s account for 14%, and those born in the 2000s account for the least, accounting for only 8%.

How long will people stay in domestic summer tour? Most tourists choose to travel for 4-6 days, accounting for 45%, followed by those who choose to travel for less than three days, accounting for 37%, 15% choose to travel for 7-10 days, and only 3% choose to travel for more than 10 days.
