NANNING, July 4 (Xinhua) -- Authorities in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region have pumped 234 million yuan (34 million U.S. dollars) in funds to help migrant workers start businesses.

According to the regional department of finance, 184 million yuan was used to guarantee subsidies for migrant-worker-turned entrepreneurs, and in related areas such as recruiting sessions.

Meanwhile, 50 million yuan was used to support the development of entrepreneurial parks. The money was allocated to 10 selected parks, each receiving 5 million yuan.

In the first quarter of 2019, 805 companies settled in 38 entrepreneurial parks for migrant workers in Guangxi, including 532 companies started by migrant workers. The companies employed 22,600 migrant workers, including 3,760 living below the poverty line.
