CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Last weekend, the second station of the 2019 Chongqing Badminton League was held in Jiulongpo District. Twenty-eight local badminton clubs competed for the annual championship within two days.

As the first group competition in form of badminton clubs in Chongqing, the Chongqing Badminton League has been successfully held for five consecutive sessions since 2014. Moreover, the final of Chongqing Badminton League has been approved by Chinese Badminton Association for the first time this year, and the League becomes one of 55 mass badminton competitions recognized by Chinese Badminton Association.

Adopting the mixed team competition scoring system, it is divided into 5 projects: the first men's doubles, the second men's doubles, the mixed doubles, the men's singles and the women's doubles. The competition is held in four stations and the ranking is determined based on the total scores throughout the year. It provides chance for the mass who are not athletes on active duty, retired, registered and trained in the badminton, attracting nearly 500 amateur badminton players from 28 badminton clubs.

"Driven by the world badminton champions, native of Chongqing, like Li Xuerui and Zhang Yawen, badminton has become one of the most popular sports." Relevant official of the Organizing Committee said that the event is to provide a platform for folk elites to fight and further improve the overall level of Chongqing amateur badminton industry.
