BEIJING, July 9 (Xinhua) -- The People's Publishing House has began to release a new series of foreign literary classics, according to the publisher on Tuesday.

The complete series, comprised of 100 literary classics, including French novelist Victor Hugo's "Notre-Dame of Paris" and German writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's "Faust," will be presented to readers this year, the publisher said.

"The original book series, which were launched years ago, are well-known for their systematic, authoritative and reader-friendly content, but hard to buy now," said Zang Yongqing, head of the publisher.

Augmented-reality technology will also be embedded in the new edition to improve readers experience, the publisher said.
