CHENGDU, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Nearly 1,000 young overseas Chinese have signed up to join a summer camp to trace their ancestral ties in southwest China's Sichuan Province in August.

According to Sichuan Provincial Returned Overseas Chinese Federation, the camp members, from 10 countries including the United States, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands and New Zealand, will be divided into 13 groups and attend activities in nine cities of Sichuan.

The young people will get a chance to understand the local culture and study traditional art and skills such as martial arts, folk music and embroidery.

The summer camp will last from August 1 to 10.

The All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese plans to organize 25,000 overseas Chinese youth to join summer and winter camps in China.
