Three first-class royal relics will be displayed in the museum for the first time. More than 100 pieces or sets of collections related to incense will be showed to the public to demonstrate the charm of ancient elegant life from three aspects, including spices, incense and burning containers.
For spices, the raw materials of four famous incense in ancient China, as key exhibits and various exotic spices, such as benzoin and frankincense, which are often heard but rarely seen by the public, will be exhibited here.
For burning containers, those in the past generations related to various incense activities will be displayed. Besides most common seen censers, other incense burning containers like incense tube, incense ball and incense cases will be exhibited.
For incense, each solar term corresponds to a physical incense. You can appreciate the fragrance from the past via this exhibition.
In addition to the three aspects mentioned above, this exhibition will also add contents about the process of traditional incense making and burning, to bring the public a unique feeling and emotional reveries and present the elegant and spiritual life of ancient litterateurs.
