On August 14th, at New Century Super Market on Jinyu Avenue, Liangjiang New Area, Wang Min (the second person from right side), a Doctor of Chongqing Jiaotong University, was introducing the vegetables from desert to the public.

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- According to Chongqing Jiaotong University, the “dynamics for desert control” principle applied by the university has made new achievements. Vegetables planted in Wulan Buh Desert in Inner Mongolia are officially sold in 65 branches of New Century Super Market and CBEST.

“These vegetables and fruits are transported from Wulan Buh Desert over 1,700km away. They are planted under the application of dynamics by Chongqing Jiaotong University. You are welcome to taste and purchase them.” On August 14th, at New Century Super Market on Jinyu Avenue, Liangjiang New Area, Wang Min and several other teachers of “Desert Soilization” team stood in front of the vegetable displaying stand to recommend these products to customers warmly.

Big white radishes, sweet juicy watermelons and tomatoes, round eggplants and other fruits and vegetables were on display.

“How can you grow vegetables in the desert?” After knowing the doubts of customers, Wang Min explained that “we use the principle of dynamics to add a kind of plant adhesive to the sand, so as to make sand the nature of soil, and then we can plant vegetables and fruit on it.”

“These products are big,” some customers said so. Wang Min smiled and said that products planted in Wulan Buh Desert got abundant sunshine over 10 hours every day. The great temperature difference between day and night made these products big and sweet. “These products are zero pesticide residue.”

Some customers chose cucumbers and potatoes. It’s worth mentioning that these products are not expensive, such as potatoes at 2.98 yuan per kilo and white radishes at 2.58 yuan per kilo, which are only slightly higher than ordinary vegetables while much cheaper than the same kind of pollution-free vegetables.
