CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, the official website of the National Development and Reform Commission released the "Approval of the Feasibility Study Report of the National Development and Reform Commission on the New Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway" (hereinafter referred to as "Approval") and agreed to build the new Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway.

According to the approval, the Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway line starts from Chongqing West Railway Station, runs through Jiangjin District and Yongchuan District of Chongqing, Luzhou City and Yibin City of Sichuan Province, Bijie city of Guizhou Province, Zhaotong City and Qujing City of Yunnan Province, and ends at Kunming South Railway Station.

The main line is 699 kilometers long, of which 681 kilometers are newly built and 18 kilometers are used for the construction of the Zigong-Yibin High-Speed Railway. There are 20 stations on the whole line (one reserved station). The transportation capacity is planned to reach 30 million population per year for one-way traffic.
