Sculpture Exhibition of the 13th National Exhibition of Fine Arts opens

Li Zhen’s New China Sculpture recreates the scene that the artists participated in the design discussion on the Monument to the People's Heroes relief.

Wang Bi’s Good News is based on the image of Chongqing laborers, which captures the moment in the streets and lanes and present this scene in the form of sculpture to the public.

Jiao Xingtao’s Fireman shows the moment when a young fireman who came down from the rescue site and prepared to return to the site after a short rest. Through accurate proportion and scale control and personalized characterization, it vividly presents the heroic image of the new era.

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On September 22, the Oil Painting Exhibition of the 13th National Exhibition of Fine Arts was opened. The Sculpture Exhibition is about to open, too. It will be held in Chongqing Contemporary Art Museum in Huangjueping, Jiulongpo District.

The arrangement of the exhibition is coming to an end, with 279 sculptures displayed. It’s worth mentioning that 23 sculptures of Chongqing artists are selected. Among them, 3 sculptures are nominated and 10 sculptures are selected to be exhibited in Beijing, which receives the most outstanding result of Chongqing since it participated in the exhibition. The Opening Ceremony was held on the morning of September 25, and it will open to the public for free till October 25.

Sculptures to be exhibited in Beijing and nominated ones will be displayed in Zone A.

Walls are whitewashed and equipment like lights are upgraded in the Chongqing Contemporary Art Museum. All selected sculptures are well-displayed and the arrangement work is about to be finished.

“279 works will be exhibited in the Sculpture Exhibition, which are distributed in 7 exhibition halls of Zone A, B and C.” Ning Jia, a worker of Chongqing Contemporary Art Museum introduced that Zone A is mainly used to exhibit works to be exhibited in Beijing and nominated ones.
