Huangjueya Old Street

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- In the past National Day holiday, Chongqing’s tourism has once again become hot. During the holiday, Chongqing received 38,596,100 domestic and foreign tourists, up 10.6% from last year. Old streets with Chongqing characteristics were also favored by many tourists.

Huangjueya Old Street, located in Nan’an District, was renovated and officially opened on the National Day, 2019. The first three days of National Day holiday welcomed nearly 30,000 tourists every day, and it became a new hot tourist attraction on the Nanshan Mountain.

A new-added cultural and tourism landmark in Chongqing

If you want to see the style of old Chongqing, a walk down the old streets is a good choice. As an old street in the main urban area of Chongqing, Huangjueya Old Street has a history of more than one thousand years and it still retains the historical features of Yuqian Post Road. The prosperity of the old post roads has faded with the changes of the times, but now the old Huangjueya Street has been revived after renovation.

At present, 175 old residences and historic buildings in Bayu have been renovated, including the Daxia Inn which was Sanmao's former residence, Guizhou Chamber of Commerce and Tianshunxiang Commercial Branch. While displaying Bayu culture, aborigines shuttling through the streets can be seen, so that tourists can be closer to Chongqing's local life.

It is worth mentioning that the night view of Huangjueya Old Street is also very attractive. Sanmao's former residence, Guizhou Chamber of Commerce and other key buildings, used prominent roof, eaves, gables, pillars lighting, to foil the historical flavor of the old street. The interior of the old street shows the "change of years" of the old street with "spring, summer, autumn and winter", while the wall joined projection elements, attracting a large number of tourists.

Old street economy may become a new growth point of tourism

With the warming up of tourism in Chongqing, Jiefangbei, Hongyadong, Chaotianmen, Chongqing Raffles City, the Grand Theater, the Landmark Park and other tourist attractions have become popular places for tourists to visit, and the popularity of them has been booming for a while.

There are not only Ciqikou and Danzishi Old Street, but also Huangjueya Old Street, Shibati, Baixiang Street, Longmenhao Old Street, Ciyunsi Old Street, Jingangbei and many other old street scenic areas in Chongqing. With the continuous warming up of Chongqing’s tourism and the rising trend of deep tourism, it will undoubtedly drive other old streets to attract tourists' attention.
